Also on the 14th, mobile waders around the estuary as the morning tide dropped 53 Ringed Plover, 5 Sanderling, 55 Dunlin, 2 Turnstone, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit and 1 Whimbrel.
15th May - less small waders in the estuary but 6 Barnacle Geese were by Swallow Boats. Numbers of small waders decreased over the rest of the month and by the end was hard to find any despite frequent looking.

18th - 2 Spotted Flycatchers were seen from the river path 0.7km downstream from Llechryd Bridge.

A surprise to hear a Cetti's Warbler singing near Llechryd bridge. 3 Swifts, a Dipper, Grey Wagtail and Pied Wagtail feeding fledged young were also seen near the bridge.

The very vocal Great Spotted Woodpecker juveniles have fledged from their nest hole near the children's playground.

Not only young birds but mammals too. Jax was fortunate to see a doe with her fawn on the Teifi Marshes meadows on the 2nd June.

If you didn't see the Teifi episode of  Iolo's River Valleys when it was broadcast it is worth a watch to see the wildlife and locations familiar to us

As we head into June we will start to see the first failed and non breeders return. A Teal on Mallard pond on the 4th June was likely an example of this, though 3 Whimbrel in the estuary on the 3rd June may still be venturing north.
